Ryan had a doctors appointment with a Neurosurgeon for his neck today. He has 2 herniated disks. The doctor told Ryan he wasn't letting Ryan deploy until he has it fixed. That would require 2 disk replacements or fusing 4 disks together. Both have a quick recovery time but since his spinal cord is being so compressed a little trauma could cause big problems. That pushes us closer to VA since he was supposed to deploy right away from MT and now cannot until he gets fixed. The total full recovery is 3 months but he can bike in a week and run in 4 weeks, moderate lifting at 4-6 weeks and then can do anything full contact and heavy lifting at 3 months. So right now the big day for Ryan will be April 1...no fools, that's the surgery date, here in Ohio. We wont know the final base decision until the end of next week.
